Process of Applying Lingual Braces

The process starts with the taking of your teeth impressions/pictures. Then, the dentist sends these images to the dental lab. According to the size and shape of these impressions, they create customized brackets. The making of customization of lingual braces takes about six weeks. After its completion, the orthodontist cement these braces on the back surface of the teeth.

During the application process of the lingual braces, the orthodontic applies pressure on your teeth. Well, the cementing is alike the traditional braces. They require a gentle but continuous force for application and fixing. A dentist uses hands and some tools to put pressure and adjust their position. A patient needs 18 to 36 months to get an even jawline. However, the duration depends on the severity of the crooked and uneven teeth. Sometimes, a person needs more than 36 months; however, sometimes a patient can get straight teeth in just 12 months. The overcrowding teeth can take more than usual time.

When it comes to the cost of lingual braces, then these are an expensive option, as they require customization and have a hidden quality, so they are costly than the traditional braces. They have archwires and installments of brackets. The normal cost of the lingual braces is $5,000. The price varies according to the customization plan and size.

Well, the application of the lingual braces needs special training and technical expertise; therefore, not every orthodontic is eligible for the cementing of these braces.
